Eggs....

Look out for those eggs!!!

For the next 5 weeks we will be going live within Kitsap County to let you know where we will be hiding Easter eggs. Each egg is filled with a card that has instructions and a Kitsap Accessible Family Events sticker.
The card also has a handwritten number on it. Before hiding we select a random # and at the end of the week we will announce the number that was chosen. You must follow all directions on the card in order to win the prize!

HAPPY HUNTING!!

It's a movement!

Kitsap Accessible Family Events wants to spread the word that we are here. That we are a group that wants to help and grow the bond between our community and our special needs families.

How can you help? We need people to start talking. Start telling others about our amazing events; Sensory Friendly Movies, Holiday Events, partnerships with local businesses, etc. We need to hear from you and know what you would like to see.

If you are a business and want to open your doors to our families then please reach out to us at sensoryfriendlyevent@gmail.com. If you want to help make our events possible you can donate through paypal; President@hydranencephalyfoundation.org *Please note that it is for KAFE when making a donation through Paypal. We also need volunteers at most of our events so if you would like to get involved please email us and let us know as we would love to have you and can provide certificate of volunteer hours.

Welcome to KAFE

Welcome to Kitsap Accessible Family Events (KAFE)! We operate out of Kitsap County, WA and originated 6 years ago. KAFE was started by two friends whom wanted to reach out and help our community families (that are dealing with ongoing educational and or medical needs) while providing them a place to network and meet other families whom simply "get it".

In 2017 we partnered with Global Hydranencephaly Foundation (GHF) and they became our fiscal sponsor, allowing us to grow and continue to receive tax deductible donation from our community.  Check out Global Hydranencephaly at http://hydranencephalyfoundation.org/about.htm

We are building community relations through our special needs families and community businesses by providing access to sensory friendly events within our community. Many families take something as simple as going to the movies for granted, but for many of our special needs families this is something that simply is not possible...until now. Six years ago we partnered with our local movie theater and have been providing sensory friendly movies (at least) once a month since then. The theater is only open to our families, the volume is turned down, lights are only dimmed and the policy of silence is golden within a theater is not practiced here as we embrace each individual and their needs (including getting up, ticks, dancing, and so much more). We have also provided a Christmas party for the last 6 years as well. This is actually how we began (by doing a holiday party). We have held it at an indoor bounce house, an indoor play place and the movies. All of our events are free (or significantly discounted) for our families and we welcome all disabilities as  there is no need to great or to small.

We rely solely on (tax deductible) donations to be able to provide these events for our families. So, if you can help in any way we would be grateful for your contribution. You may make a paypal donation through GHF (PLEASE NOTE ITS FOR KAFE) at: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?token=jOsfr1K0JpTIEqV9-LrSzukUuYUC0N16P0_n9FRtk2sCzZtb4Hse61I___0IgoDV-FDv-W&country.x=US&locale.x=US

We look forward to hearing from you. You can find us on Facebook at Kitsp Accessible Family Events, subscribe to our emails to stay up to date at sensoryfriendlyevent@gmail.com.
